Stated Issue

The stated issue that is discussed in the ad is that everyone has suffered through out the bad economic problems that came along with Bush in precidentcy. It also shows that McCain actually said that he doesn't really know much about the economy so there wouldn't be a change in the next four years. Since in the ad they show Bush and McCain hugging, the people might get the idea that he might run the country the same way. Then finally at the end they put the message in you that finally enough is enough.

Implied Issues

The issues that are mainly implied in the ad are the gas prices crashing through the roof. people in the last 4 years have been paying more and more for just one gallon of gas that can get you only several miles. The next issue is dealing with all the families that have lost their homes because the banks have foreclosed them due to the payments being too much money. But most importantly is that they state that McCain doesnt know about the economy and is going to be a replica of bush in office.

Targeted Audience

The target audience for this ad is people that see the economy important. They are also targeting people that don't like Bush, meaning they wont like McCain. They are trying to tell the people that McCain is like Bush and will do the same as Bush. They are also targeting people that are really upset with Bush.

Personal Ad

This ad is more a personal ad then an issue ad. The reason being that they are trying to make a bad impression of McCain so that people will vote for Obama. If this ad was an issue ad it would talk more about the issue than McCain. It does mention economy but it ends up talking about McCain. It starts talking about McCain wishing he was like Bush. Its also saying how if people vote for McCain then you will be like voting for Bush and having to deal with the same problems or issues for four more years. That is why this ad is more of a personal ad since they are talking bad about their opponent and trying to get people to vote for Obama. They are saying that Obama will be a better president and will do a beeter job than his opponent.

Negative Attack Ad

The ad is a negative attack on John McCain by Obama. Obama states that McCain does not understand our economy. Obama puts a direct quote from McCain “Economics is not something I’ve understood as well as I should.” Obama states how McCain sides with president George W. Bush 90% percent of the time and under his presidency the economy has dropped cause higher gas prices and for closer on lots of buildings..

Main Arguments

One of the main arguments is the way that the country's economy has been going since the time Bush began his presidentcy. The ad makes you feel that if republicans win they will be keeping the oil prices sky high and the economy going down hill. Families have been suffering because the economy does not let them move forward financially.

The next argument is the way that McCain and Bush agree on the way the country should be ran. The theory is that John McCain follows Bush's footsteps. Since they seem to be really close, maybe that might jepordise the way McCain leads us, because Bush might influence him and might make him do somethings like the way they were.

The Evidence

In the ad they show a quote by McCain that says, "Economics is not something I've understood as well as i should." One thing that the economy really suffers with is the high gas prices because of the war in Iraq. Also all the homes being foreclosed because the economy keeps going down hill so family's have been forced to move out and the foreclosures ruin their credit.

Foreclosure.jpgA18HP51CA8GBXIGCAA63TFRCADGZPW2CAW24DFMCA6U8IU9CAMQSRFJCAL7V342CA47ANXFCAG2PUPJCAZPZMT3CALXBNHZCALQ3LK5CATC3OY7CAB2AX26CAW9Q13LCAMSL22YCASJ831SCA7JOCND.jpg

The crisis has been brewing because of the "eight years of failed policies" of George W. Bush, who had been "endorsed" by the Republican candidate John McCain. McCain is a person who has more knowledge of war than what’s going on in the country. Then they show him being similar to Bush, they say that he has voted with bush on 90% of the time. Since they pass them together hugging in the picture and smiling they make it seem like they are very similar and enjoy being around one another. Finally towards the end they put that we cannot afford more of the same//.

Fact Check

I strongly feel that the oil crisis and the foreclosures are true. I believe this because since we've been at war over seas the gas prices have not gone down alot, if they do go down when they come back up they are at extreme costs. I also feel that if the republicans won the election, that the war in Iraq would still go on until they decide it's time to get out. Then with the foreclosures, many people have lost all the efforts that they have put into the home and have to file bankruptcy in orfer to manage a little more.

One that i felt that was inacurate was the quote that John McCain said in the beginig. I thought it over and no one in their right mind would say that if they're running for president of the United States. Maybe the quote is from something else and they just used what they could for their advantage against their opponent.

Final Evaluation

In my opinion I felt this ad to be very effective. It showed the problems that most of the people in the U.S. are dealing with. The music also seems to go along with the ad and makes it seem more intact. As well as the comparing of Bush and McCain with all the pictures, it looked as if they were buddies. Also there was the data that said how McCain voted with Bush on 90 percent of all the votes they've both done.
